Their mission: To protect the planet from aliens who are using the planet's animals to attack humans. The anime series shown in America is different than the one shown in Japan. Like many anime that 4Kids licenses, they edit the snot out of it. It consists of 7 tankoubon and is published by Kodansha in Japan and Tokyopop in America. The sequel manga is called "Tokyo Mew Mew a la mode" and is 2 tankoubon long.
