From tv.com: Spice and Wolf is about a 25 year old peddler name Craft Lawrence who finds a mysterious and beautiful girl named Horo sleeping in the back of his wagon. He is surprised to find that the girl has ears and a tail and howls when she wakes up. He soon learns that she is the harvest god of the nearby village Pasroe and she wants to return to homeland in the north called Yoitsu. Horo manages to get Lawrence to take her with him and in turn helps him earn more then he did before. Little do they know, the church is watching the two very closely. There is both manga and a light novel versions of this story, both of which are still running. Hakura Isuna is the author of both and Ayakura Juu is the artist of both. For the manga, Koume Keito also lends her pen as artist (she also worked on Kujibiki Unbalance and Uta kata). The manga (top image) is up to 3 tankoubon and the light novels (bottom image) have 13 books so far. Both series are published in Japan by MediaWorks and in America by Yen Press.
