From anime-source: Judy Abbott is an orphan and receives a scholarship by a mysterious man. The only thing she catches from him is his tall shadow. She calls him "Daddy Long Legs" and writes to him once a month. The school she attends isn't like anything she's experienced before. It's prestigious and some girls there are snobby. However, she's determined to make friends and learn about a completely different life she'll now be living in. This anime is based on Jean Webster's best known book, "Daddy-Long-Legs" published in 1912. In addition to the anime, there have been multiple real-life film adaptations, starring Fred Astare, Leslie Caron, Shirley Temple, Janet Gaynor, and Warner Baxter. (Not all in the same movie.) The first film adaptation starred Mary Pickford and was released in 1919, shown on the right.
