The cogwheel of choice From scrumptious: Gay-haired Tomo and ghostly Misao get a mysterious metal suitcase from Kurosaki, a friend of Tomo’s brother. A miko with heterochromatic eyes attacks Tomo that night, asking the whereabouts of the Asura Machina. Sensing that the metal case could be the source of all the recent odd happenings, Tomo seeks out Kurosaki, who promises to help him if he joins the Chemistry Club. Not long after, more people wanting to take hold of the suitcase come after Tomo. Under the dire circumstances, he opens the case and out comes a black substance that turns into a mecha, the Asura Machina.
There is both a light novel (pictured, top) and manga (pictured, bottom) books of this series. Both are still being released. The light novels are up to 14 books while the manga has released 2 tankoubon with book 3 due out the end of March 2010. The author of both is Mikumo Gakuto, with Watanuki Nao doing the artwork for the light novels and Akizuki Ryo providing art for the manga. Both series are published in Japan by ASCII Media Works.
